Our sea salt is a whole sea salt - seawater is evaporated until there is nothing left but pure sea salt. This means there are some other compounds in addition to 'salt' (NaCl ) such as magnesium, potassium and calcium salts.
This sea salt product is not artificially dried and retains around 4-5% moisture content. This gives it a different texture to mass produced / dried salts and also cuts down our carbon footprint.
Stonehaven Sea Salt is therefore more suitable as a finishing salt or garnish rather than for use in a salt grinder.
